In a series of deals the investor-owned utility says is good for consumers' wallets, American Electric Power subsidiary Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) recently signed long-term power purchase agreements for a total of 358.65 MW of capacity from wind projects in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

On December 11th, 2009, the final of IV All-Ukrainian contest of energy-saving and energy efficiency projects the “Fair of Ideas-2009” was held on the initiative of the Alliance together with the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry for Regional Development and Building of UkraineVenue: Conference Hall of the Ministry for Regional Development and Building of Ukraine.

The Best Project for implementation nomination: the project "Improving Energy-efficiency of heating and hot water supply systems through the introduction of resonance magneto acoustic processing of heat bearing agent.
